Poems of the Drought

P o e m s   o f   t h e   D r o u g h t   is a personal, poetical and historical document of the poet’s experiences with his local climate during the worst drought on record in California’s history. Explorations and evocations such as are normally left out of science and history, and which can only be of an essentially poetic kind, span the connections between mundane aspects of suburban life, the freighted meanings in the release of the rain, and the actions we continue to take, wittingly and unwittingly, toward changing our environments.
